Issue: Users may encounter a situation where, after exporting a balancing journal to Xero, it does not appear in the Xero program.

Cause: The journal may be located in Drafts in Xero. One reason for the absence of journals in the posted section of Xero may be attributed to the fact that Xero does not support journals for certain system accounts or custom accounts created in Active and hence puts them in drafts.

Workaround/Resolution: Instruct the user to open their Xero program. In the Accounting menu, select Reports. Find and open the Journal Report. Click Go to manual journals in the top right corner, then select the Draft tab.

One reason the journal may not have posted is if you inspect the exported journal in Active and verify if any of the line items in the journal have one of the following accounts with 'No' as the specified value:
