Issue: Clients may encounter this error when importing data or a trial balance (TB) from a MYOB source into an Active Ledger dataset or an Active workpapers binder.

Error creating import Journal Dated 30/6/20xx. Journal is out of Balance by $x.xx

Cause: If you review a copy of the client's balance sheet as of that date, you'll notice that net assets do not equal total equity (which they should). This indicates that the accounts in the MYOB file are unbalanced, and as a result, the TB journals being imported from MYOB are also unbalanced. This is a known bug that occurs in some MYOB files.

Resolution: This can easily be resolved by MYOB support by running an out-of-balance balance sheet SQL script. Please ask the client to contact MYOB support to perform a data fix on this file.
