Resetting your 2FA / Business Fitness account Authenticator

A guide for users to reset their Two factor Authenticator (2FA) for their business fitness identity account

Overview: This article explains how to reset your Business Fitness 2FA authenticator. If you don’t have a recovery code, you’ll need to contact support for assistance.


Note: You'll need one of the recovery codes you got when you set up your authenticator. If you don't have a recovery code, please contact our support team at [email protected] to request a reset.

Your support email must include your company's email signature. This ensures proper tracking of your request and is part of our security requirements.


2FA reset requests received via phone call will not be accepted.

Instructions for Resetting 2FA

  1. Access the Identity website

    1. Log into to the Identity Platform; https://identity.businessfitness.com.au

    2. Log in with your username and password.

  2. Using recovery code

    1. When prompted for the authenticator code, login using a 'recovery code' or an 'SMS code' if you're existing 2FA codes are not accessible

    3. If using the recovery code option, enter one of your recovery codes saved during setup.

    4. If using the SMS code option, enter in the code received by SMS.

  3. Configure authenticator app

    1. Navigate to the Two-factor authentication screen.

    2. Select the option to 'Reset authenticator key' and complete the onscreen process to set up your 2FA again. 2Fa screen identity

  4. New recovery codes

    1. You'll receive new recovery codes on the next screen. Previous codes are now invalid

    2. Make sure to save these new codes securely.

  5. Enable SMS Recovery Codes (Optional)

    1. For added security, enable SMS delivery of recovery codes.

    2. To do this, navigate to your Profile page, click 'Add Phone Number,' and follow the prompts to complete the SMS setup.

  6. Completing the process

    1. Click 'Profile' to finish.

  7. Access restored

    1. You can now log in to Business Fitness services again.

Note: Use a password manager or a physical secure location to store your recovery codes. This ensures they are accessible and safe in case of emergencies.
