Issue: Workpapers opened on a Mac display dates in the American format.
This issue appears in various workpapers, including GL workpapers, where transactions are dated in the American format instead of the Australian format.
Cause: This problem seems to occur only on Mac computers, where Excel inherits the date properties from the Mac's system settings, specifically from the date, region, and language settings.
Resolution:
To resolve this issue:
1. Close Excel completely.
2. On your Mac, go to the Apple menu > System Settings, click General in the sidebar, then click Language & Region on the right. (You may need to scroll down.)
3. Click the + sign to add English (Australia) as a language and set it as your primary language.
4. Ensure that the date format dropdown menu displays dd/mm/yyyy as shown in the screenshot below:
