This guide provides a step-by-step user guide for downloading, installing, and troubleshooting the Smart Workpapers Add-in

Steps to download and install the Smart Workpapers Add-in

  1. Download the installer

    • Click the link above to download the Smart Workpapers Add-in installer.

    • Once downloaded, ensure Microsoft Excel is fully closed.

  2. Run the installation file

    • Locate the downloaded file and double-click to run the installer.

    • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

  3. Verify installation in Excel

    • Open a Smart Workpapers file in Excel.

    • In Excel, Navigate to File > Smart Workpapers > Login.

    • Log in using your credentials. Once logged in, future logins should occur automatically.

Troubleshooting common issues

Add-in disabled by Excel

Excel may disable Add-ins under certain circumstances. To resolve this:

  1. Open Excel to confirm that both of the Smart workpaper add-in components have installed correctly.

  2. You can verify this by Opening Excel, go to File > Options > Add-ins. You should see the following two components listed:

    • HowNow Smart Workpapers COM Add-in

    • HowNow Smart Workpapers Formulas Excel Add-in

Tip: In a typical installation, these files are installed in your user profile's local AppData folder (e.g. C:\users\[username]\AppData\Local\BusinessFitness\HowNow Smart Workpapers\...)
