This guide outlines the steps required to install the Smart Workpapers Add-In in a Terminal Server environment.

Step 1: Download and save the installer

  1. Download the latest version of the installer by logging into the Smart Workpapers website

  2. Once logged in, click the Add-in Installation button on the right, which will take you to the support article with the download link. Alternatively, download the add-in directly from the Smart Workpaper Add-In Installation help article.

  3. Save the downloaded installer to a universally accessible location for all users.

Step 2: Create login script to automate install

  1. Locate the saved installer in the universally accessible location.

  2. Run the following login script, substituting [MyPath] with the path where the installer is saved:

    "C:\[MyPath]\HowNow Smart Workpapers Setup.exe" /verysilent /preventdowngrade="true"


Step 3: Confirmation

  1. After a user logs in, ask them to open Excel to confirm that both of the Smart workpaper add-in components have installed correctly.

  2. You can verify this by Opening Excel, go to File > Options > Add-ins. You should see the following two components listed:

    • HowNow Smart Workpapers COM Add-in

    • HowNow Smart Workpapers Formulas Excel Add-in
