When setting up a Record Template, clients may wonder about the purpose of the "Section A Category List" tickbox.

Here’s a brief overview of its function:

Purpose of the Tickbox:

This option is used to create lists in worksheets that become available in dropdown menus in the worksheets. For example, in the FBT binder when a user creates a sheet in the section they are forced to give the sheet a name (in this case the employee's name) and then when they add another sheet in another section that list of employees is available as dropdown selection.

For more information, see our internal documentation here: https://businessfitness.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/WOR/pages/2195685378/Summary+Sheet+Feature

There is also an ongoing feature request aimed at enhancing this functionality to make it more user-friendly and easier to follow. For details, visit: https://businessfitness.atlassian.net/browse/PD-255

other examples of sheets where it might have been used:

- Chattel Mortgage

- High Purchase Schedule

- CGT 1

- some FBT sheets with employee name

To Set Up:

Step 1:
Create a section in Admin Centre > Workpapers Admin > Binder Templates for sheets whose record name will appear in the dropdown menu. Make sure to tick Category A.

Step 2:
When inserting the sheets from the above section into a binder, the system will prompt you to enter a record title.

Step 3:
In any fields enabled for the Tm_CategoryList named range within the sheet, the system will automatically pick up the sheet's record title.

For custom sheets you would need to manually create the Tm_CategoryList named range using the help article here:
Template Formulae and Coded Actions

Step 4: (may not work for custom record templates)

This information will flow into the summary page (which is hardcoded).

Here is a video of the demo:
