This article will guide you through connecting Portal to an HNX firm.

What you need:

  • Access to L&C.

  • Access to Portal.

  • The firm to be created in the Portal.

Connecting Portal to a HNX firm.

  1. Login to L&C and Portal Admin using your super account.

  2. Locate the firm in both L&C and Portal.

  3. In L&C, click Details to access the firm settings.

  4. Click Edit next to the active users count.

  5. Click Edit Portal Settings.

  6. Select Production from the drop-down list.

  7. Go to Portal, copy the ID for the firm.

  8. Paste the ID in the Portal GUID field.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Tick Client Portal and click Save to complete connection.

Configure HowNow for Portal.

  1. Login to the firms HNX instance using the support account.

  2. Enter the Daily Advanced Access Code when prompted.

  3. When HNX is loaded, go to File > Administration > Records > Record Status.

  4. Select the status above final, click New.

    1. Name: Ready for Upload

    2. Type: Final

    3. Colour: clTeal

    4. Tick Ready for Upload status checkbox.

    5. Click OK.

    6. You will be prompted with a list of users, click OK.

  5. Select the Ready for Upload status, click New.

    1. Name: Uploaded

    2. Type: Final

    3. Colour: clGreen

    4. Tick Uploaded status checkbox.

    5. Click OK.

    6. You will be prompted with a list of users, click OK.

  6. Select the Uploaded status, click New.

    1. Name: New Client File

    2. Type: Final

    3. Colour: clNavy

    4. Tick New Client File status checkbox.

    5. Click OK.

    6. You will be prompted with a list of users, click OK.

  7. Click OK to save the changes to Record Status.

  8. Request the firm HNX admin to close and reopen HowNow.

  9. Once they have reopened HowNow, go to File > Options > Portal.

  10. Have them click Login.

  11. Have them enter their Portal credentials and click login.

  12. Once logged in, Portal will be operational for the firm.
